Position Summary:The Director, Health Professional Programs leads the development, packaging, and dissemination of clinical and implementation resources that translate the Alzheimer's Association's evidence base into practical tools for use across the full care continuum - primary care detection, specialty care, and care coordination.
This role leads packaging, dissemination, and integration of content into practical, implementation-ready tools for varied audiences and settings, and ensures clinician-facing resources connect to patient- and caregiver-facing resources that clinicians can share directly with families. This role partners closely with the Director, Healthcare Solutions to ensure ALZPro receives clear content requirements and finished resources for platform integration, and represents the Association on external partner workgroups relevant to its clinical program portfolio.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Clinical Programs, Translation and Quality Improvement, this position works cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Professional Education, Care and Support, Public Policy and Advocacy, Foundation and Corporate Giving, and Integrated Marketing and Communications to ensure resources are evidence-informed, audience-appropriate, and effectively disseminated.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Cross-Continuum Resource Development (35%)- Identify and develop resources that support detection and screening in primary care settings.
- Develop resources for specialty care audiences, including neurology and geriatrics, to support diagnosis and ongoing management.
- Build tools that support care coordination across settings, helping providers navigate referrals, transitions, and shared care planning.
- Monitor gaps in the Association's professional resource portfolio across the care continuum and recommend new content priorities.
Cross-Audience Implementation Support (25%)- Adapt and tailor resources to support implementation across varied audiences and care settings across the continuum, coordinating with teams that own specific audience relationships.
- Coordinate with Care and Support to ensure clinician-facing tools connect to or align with patient-facing resources that clinicians can share directly with patients and families.
- Develop modified or adapted versions of resources as needed for resource-constrained health systems and underserved populations to support equitable implementation.
- Coordinate with Public Policy and Advocacy on resources that support policy and payment change relevant to dementia care quality.
Content Requirements & ALZPro Coordination (20%)- Serve as the primary point of coordination between care-continuum content development and the ALZPro product team, ensuring the Director, Healthcare Solutions and their team have clear requirements, priorities, and finished content needed for platform integration.
- Translate content plans and deliverable timelines into specifications the ALZPro team can use for sequencing and release planning; platform decisions remain owned by the Director, Healthcare Solutions.
- Ensure resources are packaged consistently and ready for handoff to ALZPro.
- Work with the ALZPro team and Digital Strategy as needed to resolve content format or usability issues ahead of integration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Program Support (20%)- Partner with Medical Affairs to ensure all resources are clinically accurate and aligned with current evidence and organizational positions.
- Coordinate with Professional Education to bring content to market through courses, modules, and toolkits.
- Support Foundation and Corporate Giving with content and resource materials for funding proposals and partner-facing needs.
- Partner with Integrated Marketing and Communications on promotional strategy and dissemination of key resources.
- Serve as the Association's representative on external partner workgroups relevant to the clinical program portfolio.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare administration, health communications, or a related field; advanced degree in a clinical, public health, or health sciences field preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in content development, program development, or healthcare quality improvement.
- Demonstrated experience developing resources for varied audiences in a healthcare or public health setting.
- Experience working with clinical or professional audiences, health systems, or dementia-related programs strongly preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10-15% of the time. Must have a valid driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated experience developing and disseminating content or resources in a healthcare, public health, or professional education context.
- Ability to translate complex clinical and scientific content into practical tools for varied audiences across the care continuum, in coordination with teams that own specific audience relationships.
- Experience coordinating cross-functionally in a matrixed environment, including with peer teams that share related but distinct scope.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables and timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment on tone and format across professional and policy audiences.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with content, platform, and program partners.
- Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and participate in virtual and in-person meetings.
