Job Summary

Please note that this position will be based out of San Diego, not Orange.

The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for:
• Maintaining active awareness of legislative issues, including proposed legislation and public policies that may impact Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, and developing and coordinating strategies to address them.
• Working under the direction of the Vice President, Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer, and in partnership with the Rady Children’s Advocacy & Public Policy team and external policy advisors, to implement strategies that support Rady Children's Health’s San Diego advocacy agenda, including developing and executing legislative proposals that support health system priorities.
• Working with internal and external partners to advocate for policies, practices and resources that advance Rady Children’s mission.
• Collaborating and amplifying the voices of Rady Children’s Health clinicians and subject matter experts to inform positions and influence policy.

Pay Range

Minimum $133,827 Midpoint $177,320 Maximum $220,792

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience:

Required : Minimum of five (5) years of experience in government relations and legislative issues. Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.

Preferred: Seven (7) years of experience in government relations and legislative issues; 2+ years of Children’s Hospital or Healthcare experience.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Marketing or equivalent.

Preferred: Master’s Degree, MBA or MHA
