Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Director of Finance - Private Investments to oversee the accounting, financial reporting, and financial operations of a diversified private equity portfolio. The Director of Finance - Private Investments will be responsible for managing the financial activities of multiple entities across various industries, including commercial real estate, asset management, agriculture, and other operating businesses. WHAT WILL YOU DO? • Lead all accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and financial operations activities across a diversified portfolio of businesses, including commercial real estate, asset management, agriculture, and operating companies. • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including consolidated financial statements, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions. • Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial planning, and performance analysis to support decision-making and business growth. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, audit requirements, and internal control frameworks. • Manage relationships with auditors, lenders, investors, financial institutions, and other external stakeholders. • Support acquisitions, divestitures, financing activities, due diligence, and integration initiatives. • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and scalability. • Partner with executive leadership and portfolio company management to provide strategic financial guidance and support long-term business objectives. WHAT WILL YOU NEED? • CPA designation and a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership experience in a complex, multi-entity environment. • Experience in private equity, commercial real estate, investment management, or diversified operating businesses is preferred. • Strong expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and internal controls. • Experience supporting M&A transactions, due diligence, and business integration activities. • Proficiency with Yardi is an asset, along with advanced Excel and financial analysis skills. • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to influence decision-making and manage multiple priorities.
