Job Description:

The Director of Finance will report to the Maritime Sector Vice President of Finance and serve as a strategic partner and advisor within the Maritime Sector Finance leadership team. This position will work closely with the division Vice President/General Manager and will be responsible for driving strategic projects and managing P&L performance. The Director of Finance will lead a professional staff in providing comprehensive financial planning and control services, including financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on sales, manufacturing costs, and profitability. This is a full-time, onsite position located in the Camden, NJ waterfront neighborhood.

Essential Functions:

Earned Value Management (EVMS) and knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Oversee Estimate of Completions (EACs) and profit impacts
  • Develop and present various ad hoc analysis and reports required to support Program Management Team and Senior Management
  • Establish and ensure compliance with financial policies, practices and procedures at the division and operating sites
  • Establish appropriate business controls to engender an appropriate "results focus" in decision making
  • Manage cash and treasury matters
  • Analyze and review every facet of the business, including revenue, pricing, forecasting and taking appropriate actions to achieve margin improvement and net profit improvement on every element of the business
  • Ensure solid program and product line financial performance through early identification of operational issues and implementation of containment methods
  • Bring financial and general management expertise to the division's leadership team
  • The position consults with the business area GM's and requires latitude in exercising independent judgment and analysis to make decisions that will impact profits, working capital, cash flows, and financial position, while working without close supervision.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or closely related field and a minimum of 15 years of prior relevant experience. Alternatively, Graduate Degree in Finance or closely related field with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities across multiple finance disciplines
  • Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Hyperion HFM/Planning and SAP ERP software
  • Proven ability to interact and influence team members and peers at all organizational levels; ability to manage effectively both upward and downward
  • Strong understanding of government contract accounting, including quoting, progress payments, milestone and percent of completion billing and earned value management
  • Prior experience with Federal Government contracting requirements - Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR), Defense Acquisition Regulations (DAR), and International Transfer of Arms Regulations (ITAR) required
  • Detailed understanding of ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers
  • Strong management skills including planning, organizing for results, managing projects, and both leading and evaluating people
  • Demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker and experienced at developing plans for short and long-term results
  • Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and listening skills, an orientation to details, and the ability to make quick, informed decisions, a creative problem solver
  • Willingness to take ownership, accept accountability


In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $131K-$244K. For California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $151-$281K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
