72Reporting jointly to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic on all academic matters and to the Vice-President People, Equity and Inclusion on matters related to equity and employee experience, Faculty Relations leads employer relations with the SFU Faculty Association bargaining unit and directs and administers all employment-related processes associated with the faculty career life cycle.
About the RoleThe Director, Faculty Relations Systems provides leadership and vision in the planning, development, implementation, and management of complex, multi-year Faculty Relations projects to provide solutions, systems and business process improvements. The Director leads the management, development and optimization of systems in Faculty Relations to integrate departmental goals and objectives with the fluctuating business needs of the SFU community and the broader needs of the University. As a member of the senior management team, the role provides consultation, advice and support to the Executive Director to advance on strategic initiatives and organizational priorities.
Full Job Description
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline and ten years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including complex business analysis and three years of experience in employee and labour relations, recruitment and retention, compensation administration, supervision of staff and a professional HR designation at the leadership level (CPHR) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of employment and labour legislation and government policies and application of collective agreements.
- Excellent knowledge of enterprise level Information Systems and standard office applications.
- Excellent knowledge of research methodologies and statistical analysis.
- Excellent knowledge of recruitment, retention, and employee and labour relations.

The midpoint of the range is approximately halfway between the minimum and the maximum and represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications and experience for the position.
