Job Description:
The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing day- to- day facility operations. This position will oversee facility management leads and technicians. The Director is responsible for ensuring departmental and organizational goals are being met, ensure procedures are being followed, and conduct site visits/reviews.
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct walk through inspections of owned and leased facilities on a regular basis to confirm properties maintained.
- Monitor the work order system to ensure timely responses to requests as well as manage any workflow issues.
- Assist with development of an annual capital expenditure needs list. Communicate with local program directors on short and long term needs of the facility, assisting with any improvements or repairs as needed.
- Responsible for new vendor management and bid processes.
- Provide oversight of company vehicles in your region to ensure proper preventative maintenance.
- Coordinates and oversees that facilities are continuously in compliance and meeting C.A.R.F standards.
- Ensure timely submission of expenses and credit card reports for accounting processes.
- Supervision of employees. Provide ongoing communication and leadership to staff.
- Assist on construction projects, new location searches and coordinate office re-locations as needed.
- Demonstrates interest in long term and short-term goals and objectives of the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, equipment, materials and supplies related to construction, operation, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure, landscape areas, and vehicles.
- Extensive knowledge of safety practices and principles related to maintenance activities including any applicable laws or regulations.
- Ability to plan, assign, schedule and review work of staff.
- Capable of effective communication and interaction with team members and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
- High School education or equivalent; AND
- Must possess four or more years in the building maintenance field, and/or four years of leadership experience.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Communicate the strategic direction of the organization and encourage participation by all team members.
- Provide leadership and guidance to all aspects of the department.
- Take an active role in monitoring the identification, development, and execution of strategic objectives.
- Involve, as appropriate, all team members to achieve goals.
- Effectively communicate to team members any changes and newsworthy events within the department or company.
- Handle difficult team member situations directly, using appropriate discretion and Human Resource advice to show respect for the individual
- Champion change and effectively manage the implementation of new ideas.
- Reinforces team approach throughout functions; support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the company.
Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.
- Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
- All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
- Current driver9s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
