Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Technology Services (JJTS) is seeking a Director, SAP Application Development & Security to support enterprise ERP and planning platforms across North America. Based in Raritan, NJ, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing SAP application development (ABAP), SAP Security, and SAP BTP security services across the enterprise landscape.

The Director will lead the delivery of application development and security capabilities for major transformation programs, including SAP role and persona design, security architecture, access governance, SOX/GxP compliance, and audit readiness. The role is accountable for ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant SAP solutions while enabling business transformation and operational excellence.

In addition, the Director will provide leadership for vendor management, financial stewardship, resource planning, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing speed, quality, cost efficiency, resilience, and customer experience. As the primary escalation point for SAP application development and security services, this leader will partner closely with global technology and business stakeholders to drive automation, standardization, innovation, and service excellence across the ERP ecosystem.

This role will be needed to work with key stakeholders such Technical Product Owners (TPOs), Global Product Owners (GTOs), Enterprise Architecture team(s), Technology Service Owners, TQM and ISRM.

This opportunity will reside within the ERP Technology Services organization, overseeing SAP ERP and OMP-based planning platform support and services. The role will report to the Senior Director, ERP Services, Operations, Application Development and Security. The Director will lead platform operations and application maintenance for ERP applications, with accountability for service portfolio management, vendor management, business relationship management, strategic performance management, financial management, and talent development. This leader will be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, platform stability, service quality, operational readiness, and continuous improvement. The role will partner with Technology Product Owners, business leaders, enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, vendors, and delivery teams to improve IT product quality, reduce reliability risks, and enable highly available, secure, scalable, and cost-effective enterprise platforms.

Primary responsibilities of the role include:
  • Own and lead SAP Application Development and Security services across the enterprise SAP landscape, including SAP S/4HANA, ECC, Central Finance, Treasury, BW/HANA, SAP BTP, GRC, and related platforms. Drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and compliant solutions by clearly articulating business value, service scope, customer requirements, operating models, and technology strategy.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for SAP ABAP development, SAP Security, and SAP BTP Security, including solution design, custom development, role and authorization architecture, access governance, security controls, and compliance requirements for transformation programs and business initiatives.
  • Lead the full application and security service lifecycle, including strategy, demand management, solution design, development, deployment, performance management, modernization, compliance, audit readiness, and retirement of services, ensuring alignment with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization across SAP development and security processes, enhancing delivery speed, quality, operational resilience, cost efficiency, and customer experience while maintaining SOX, GxP, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Partner with business, technology, and external vendors to deliver enterprise transformation initiatives, serving as the primary escalation point for SAP application development and security services and ensuring effective governance, service excellence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Human Capital Management - Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global team by setting clear goals, building succession depth, identifying upskilling opportunities, strengthening diversity and inclusion, and enabling career growth.
  • Improve ERP Services across design, deployment, operations, automation, total cost of ownership optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong global and regional partnerships with technology, business, and vendor teams to deliver full service and meaningful business outcomes.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field is required; MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable. Relevant certifications in SAP, S/4HANA, Agile, PMP or service management are preferred. The ideal candidate will bring at least 12 to 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience, including deep expertise in enterprise ERP operations.

  • Minimum of 12 to 15 years of IT experience supporting enterprise applications, with significant people leadership and program delivery responsibility.
  • Proven leadership in SAP ABAP Development, SAP Security, and enterprise application delivery.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformations, Agile/DevOps operations, and managed services.
  • Strong expertise in SAP cloud platforms, integrations, security governance, and compliance (SOX/GxP).
  • Demonstrated success in people leadership, talent development, vendor management, and financial stewardship.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder influence, and global team leadership.
  • Strategic, results-oriented leader focused on innovation, operational excellence, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • 10% travel- domestic/international.
