We design and operate customer-facing platforms enabling customers to configure and control their delivery, security, and cloud assets. This team owns the IAM tool sets for Akamai's customers using the Akamai Control Center website and the Cloud Manager website. We ensure customers have what they need to configure users for quality, safety, and performance.
Partner with the bestAs the Director of Engineering, you will be in a high-impact, global leadership role responsible for steering the engineering strategy, architecture, and execution of Akamai's IAM platform. This leader will scale a high-performing, globally distributed engineering organization to deliver massive-scale, feature-rich, and performant IAM systems.
As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for:
- Managing mentoring, and growing a large, multidisciplinary global team of managers, software engineers, and architects
- Driving the technical roadmap for the IAM platform, ensuring the platform is highly scalable, resilient, and optimized for global, low-latency AuthZ
- Overseeing the end-to-end software development lifecycle to ensure all code meets our high standards for quality, safety and performance.
- Partnering closely with other teams to translate business vision into concrete technical milestones,
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or its equivalent
- Have extensive experience leading large, distributed software engineering teams with a track record of delivering innovative software products
- Possess a deep understanding of the IAM ecosystem
- Have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of aligning remote, global teams
CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $203,600 - $366,400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
