Job Description

The Director Network Development is responsible for coordinating, negotiating and handling activities of the network development functions across the country for all networks for the assigned region. The Director is accountable for strategic growth and maintenance of networks to ensure competitive market positioning with regards to access, quality and cost.

This role supports customers and business needs across the Western region of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Grows and retains business through competitive network access and quality.
  • Develops partnerships with strategic providers to ensure a market-leading discount and cost positions as well as highly competitive network offerings.
  • Leads initiatives/strategies that will guide network development activities to enhance network competitive standing.
  • Oversees provider contracting activities to ensure efficiency and maintains compliance with Company policies and standards, government laws, and regulations.
  • Develops and executes a network development plan for the assigned region and oversees a team to secure provider agreements in support of the Company's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Evaluates and monitors providers' performance standards and financial performance of contracts.
  • Supports Sales teams to win business and grow and maintain membership.
  • Oversees all provider negotiations, ensuring alignment with internal guidelines and financial standard and targets.
  • Serves as leader on enterprise initiatives around network management


  • Qualifications

    • 12+ years w/Bachelor's degree; 3+ years management
    • A successful track record managing and negotiating major provider contracts
    • Exceptional analytical skills to identify and evaluate business solutions
    • Experience building and maintaining various provider networks across large geographies
    • In-depth knowledge of managed care and healthcare business
    • Experience with value-based contracting is preferred
    • Experience with commercial and government programs is preferred
    • Strong management skills to effectively manage division activities enterprise wide
    • Excellent organizational/time management and project management skills and multi-tasking abilities
    • Strong negotiation and strategic thinking skills
    • Detail orientation and problem-solving capabilities


    Base Pay Information

    The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
    Pay Grade 23. $107,444 - $232,795
