Salary: $80,000 - $90,000

Job Summary

Shelbyville Schools District, located in Shelbyville, IN, serves approximately 3,900 students across five schools. This Director of Dining Services role provides leadership for the district's child nutrition program, overseeing daily operations, financial performance, food quality, and customer satisfaction. The Director will lead and support a team of 37 frontline associates while partnering with and overseeing two salaried managers to ensure efficient operations and an exceptional dining experience for students and staff.

We are seeking a strong K-12 foodservice leader with proven management experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who can effectively manage people, programs, and budgets while building strong relationships with district stakeholders. This individual will bring fresh ideas to enhance the student dining experience, drive program growth, and continuously improve operational performance while maintaining a high standard of service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates's degree in Nutrition/Management/Hospitality/Culinary preferred or equivalent experience.
  • K12 food service management experience
  • Three plus years of foodservice management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of high-volume food production and (catering trends) is preferred.
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed services experience.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
