Responsibilities

  • Act as the main liaison connecting Global Development with Data & Technology, ensuring business needs inform CRM enhancements.
  • Represent the voice of Global Development in CRM strategy, governance, and data architecture to optimize fundraising effectiveness.
  • Lead the project's transition to use Salesforce as the single authoritative system for donor data through Project OneView.
  • Coordinate Global Development's migration from Salesforce NPSP to NPC, overseeing implementation and user readiness efforts.
  • Serve as the internal expert on NPC to enhance and modernize fundraising processes.
  • Ensure integration of Global Development's systems with Salesforce, maintaining accurate donor data flows.

Full Job Description
The Director, CRM Partnerships & Strategy is the strategy lead for CRM strategy within Breakthrough T1D's Global Development Department, with a primary focus on Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP)/Nonprofit Cloud (NPC). A senior individual contributor and key member of the Philanthropic Intelligence & Analytics team, this role serves as the primary liaison between Global Development and Data & Technology - translating fundraising business needs into scalable CRM solutions and leading Global Development's readiness for the organization's migration to Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud.

Responsibilities

CRM Strategy & Governance
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Global Development and Data & Technology, translating business needs into CRM requirements, system enhancements, field additions, and reporting logic improvements.
  • Provide Global Development voice to our CRM strategy, data architecture, governance, and system performance across Global Development, ensuring CRM tools support fundraising effectiveness for Leadership Giving, Corporate & Institutional Giving, and Field Engagement.
  • Champion Project OneView - a cross-system initiative to establish Salesforce as the organization's system of record and create data governance standards that ensure a single, authoritative view of every donor and prospect - on behalf of the Global Development team.
  • Partner with Data & Technology to manage data security, user roles, and permissions within Salesforce - ensuring appropriate access controls are in place and that constituent data is protected in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements, including donor privacy standards.


Salesforce NPC Migration
  • Lead Global Development's migration from Salesforce NPSP to NPC - defining fundraising business requirements, coordinating with implementation partners, managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and overseeing Global Development staff readiness and rollout.
  • Serve as Global Development's internal NPC subject matter expert, identifying opportunities to modernize fundraising processes and leverage new platform capabilities to improve fundraising operations.


Systems Integration & Architecture
  • Represent Global Development's requirements for Salesforce integrations with key BT1D systems - including Luminate Online Greater Giving/New Signature Events, Workday, and other enterprise platforms - ensuring accurate, reliable donor and revenue data flows into CRM.
  • Partner with Data & Technology to document integration requirements and troubleshoot data discrepancies, sync failures, and process gaps that affect fundraising data quality.
  • Lead requirements gathering and project management for new and enhanced integrations that support Global Development operations, translating Development's needs into technical specifications for implementation teams.


Reporting, Adoption & Innovation
  • Develop and maintain CRM reporting and dashboards to track staff performance, pipeline health, and historical and projected fundraising trends for senior leadership.
  • Champion CRM adoption and data quality - designing training programs, Standard Operating Procedures, and change management resources that empower Development staff to use systems effectively.
  • Evaluate and recommend CRM-adjacent technology updates and vendor solutions relevant to Global Development's evolving needs.
  • Stay current on trends in CRM technology, data strategy, and nonprofit business intelligence; communicate insights to leadership.
  • Identify and champion the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and capabilities within Salesforce and connected systems - evaluating AI-powered features for prospect scoring, data enrichment, workflow automation, and fundraising insights - and partner with Data & Technology to pilot, implement, and scale solutions that increase Development team productivity and effectiveness.


Qualifications
  • 7 years of Salesforce CRM and nonprofit development experience; demonstrated expertise in Salesforce NPSP, NPC, and CRM strategy in support of development operations.
  • Proven ability to translate complex fundraising business needs into CRM requirements, integrations, and data solutions.
  • Experience managing CRM migrations and system integrations in support of development operations.
  • Proficiency with Business Intelligence and reporting tools (Tableau preferred); strong skills in data validation, governance, and quality control.
  • Deep knowledge of nonprofit philanthropy, fundraising verticals, and constituent relationship management.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with Luminate Online, Greater Giving/New Signature Events, Workday, or similar fundraising and development platforms preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Target Salary - $95k - $125k
