Reporting to the AVP, Corporate Financial Reporting - Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), the Director, Corporate Financial Reporting - ICOFR, leads the delivery, governance, and continuous enhancement of the Company's global ICOFR program.

What you will do:
  • Provide oversight of Great West Global ICOFR programs, including risk-based scoping, process greenlighting, control assessments, deficiency evaluation, remediation, quarterly sub-certifications, audit committee reporting, and year-end ICOFR assessments.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operating segments and business leaders on the design, implementation, and enhancement of entity-level and business process controls.
  • Drive consistency, quality, and effectiveness of the global control environment through improved control design, documentation standards, and governance practices.
  • Support strategic business and technology initiatives, including regulatory, accounting, and system transformation programs, ensuring ICOFR requirements are appropriately addressed.
  • Champion process improvement and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the ICOFR program.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure audit readiness and timely resolution of control findings.
  • Report ICOFR program results, emerging risks, and key issues to senior management, the Audit Committee, and other stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to support effective program delivery.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop talent, fostering the next generation of leaders within the organization.


What you will bring:
  • Progressive experience in external audit, internal audit, ICOFR, risk management, or related governance functions for at least 5 years.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • SOX controls design and evaluation experience is an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of National Instruments 52-108, 52-109, and 52-110, COSO, and internal control governance practices.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS, including IAS 8.
  • Experience leading ICOFR programs, control scoping, deficiency management, remediation, and governance activities.
  • Experience providing controls advisory support for large-scale business, finance, or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with leveraging technology and automation to improve controls and governance processes is an asset.
  • Experience in insurance or financial services is an asset.
  • Proven people leadership, coaching, and talent development experience.

The base salary for this position is between $128,200.00 - $178,200.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
