Full Job Description
The Corporate Counsel - Litigation provides strategic legal support to the organization on litigation matters and dispute resolution. This role partners with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external counsel to assess legal risks, manage active and potential claims, and ensure legal disputes are handled in alignment with business objectives and applicable laws.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and support litigation, claims, disputes, investigations, and other legal proceedings involving the organization.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external counsel to develop litigation strategy, assess risk, manage case activity, and control legal costs.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate settlement documents, confidentiality agreements, and other legal documents as needed.
  • Advise senior leadership and business partners on legal risks, contractual obligations, and dispute resolution options.
  • Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and legal developments that may impact litigation, regulatory enforcement, or business operations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal clients, outside counsel, advisors, and other third-party partners.
  • Prepare legal analyses, recommendations, and reports to support informed business decision-making and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure legal matters are handled in accordance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable legal requirements.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school required.
  • Active bar license to practice law and member in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a combination of law firm and in-house corporate legal experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing litigation, claims, disputes, investigations, and outside counsel.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation management.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal and business issues, provide practical legal advice, and balance risk with business objectives.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating settlement documents, and confidentiality agreements and other legal documents as needed.

  • Sound legal judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex matters in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management including senior executives
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
  • This position may supervise others and may be responsible for the performance management, hiring, development and coaching of employees.
