Job Description

The Director of Clinical Operations and Advanced Practice Providers is responsible for the strategic oversight, development, implementation, and management of clinical professional services, including inpatient and outpatient wound care and multiple advanced practice provider (APP) service lines within the hospital setting. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality clinical support, strengthens collaborative relationships with physicians, and provides leadership to a multidisciplinary team to drive organizational performance. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in clinical operations, proven leadership capabilities, and experience in strategic planning within a complex healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans for clinical professional services to align with organizational objectives, ensuring high-quality service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of clinical professionals and advance practice providers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Physician Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with physicians and clinical staff, ensuring their clinical needs are met and services are tailored to their requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical programs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effective service delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure clinical services meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation standards to include case mix index, length of stay, and quality initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments, including administration, operations, and physicians, to integrate clinical services with broader organizational initiatives.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Drive the adoption of new technologies, processes, and methodologies to enhance clinical service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop metrics and reporting systems to track performance, outcomes, and patient satisfaction, presenting findings to executive leadership.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with healthcare IT systems, electronic health records (EHR), and emerging clinical technologies.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical operations or Progressive professional experience with a focus on leading /managing clinical services and advanced practice providers with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.

Licensure/Certification: Advanced Practice RN License from Mississippi State Board of Nursing and Certification as Nurse Practitioner by ANCC or AANP.
