Position SummaryThe Director, Clinical, Lab, Rad, & Ancillary is responsible for the overall operational Epic product enhancement function within the organization. This role provides leadership in driving strategy to meet members' operational needs, improve patient outcomes, and reduce costs through the direction and management of the Epic product enhancement lifecycle from end to end.
Working closely with organizational leaders, the Director develops strategy, plans, and people to achieve product enhancement, innovation, and quality outcomes goals while identifying and driving projects, standards, and pathways that support those objectives.
Essential Duties- Responsible for communicating and driving the implementation of the organization's strategy within Epic product enhancement team (ePET)
- Planning, directing and coordinating through subordinate leadership and staff the activity of ePET that supports the organizations strategic business plan and day to day operational needs
- Providing leadership and guidance to teams across the organization on Epic products and process to accomplish the strategic goals of the organization
- Overseeing staff development and performance of the ePET
- Overseeing system configuration performance and architecture, infrastructure and standard processes to ensure service levels are met
- Directing the implementation of new processes and driving process improvement initiatives in the departments and all aspects of Epic Operations
- Identifying and managing team priorities, connecting work to outcomes, and tracking progress against organizational metrics and goals
- Embodying the organization's culture of service by demonstrating exceptional customer service for internal and external customers
- Partners with the Epic Operations team, determines the expected business results for each Enhancement Pack (EP) project
- Partners with leaders across the organization, including Quality Assurance, Training, Clinical, and Advanced Apps to ensure timelines and deliverables are realistic and actionable
- Participate as a Voting member of the Project Review Committee (PRC)
- Safeguarding intellectual property by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures where applicable
- Advocating in the best interest of the team, our members, and for the organization as a whole
- Communicating and sharing information to relevant parties regarding team (decisions, outcomes, accomplishments, performance, learnings, best practices, etc.)
- Be an escalation point for after-hours support; and a product enhancement consultant to other departments internally
- Other duties as needed to support the organizational mission and goals
- Organizational metrics and goals are positively impacted by the Director and the work of ePET
- Team-specific operational metrics have been identified and are updated regularly, are aligned with organizational metrics and goals, and are used to drive decision making
- Team retention is consistent with or above organizational average
- Team processes are documented, are understood by team members, followed, and are aligned with organizational policies and processes
- Information is shared with relevant parties in a timely and effective manner,
- 1:1 meetings with direct reports are held at least once every two weeks
- Direct reports accurately track time in accordance with processes established at the organizational level
- Direct reports have identified and regularly track progress against goals in accordance with organizational processes
- The staff are continuing to develop and grow both individual team members through professional development; and in enhancements and innovations that meets expectations and utilize most current organizational needs
- As applicable, direct reports have excellent customer satisfaction and responsiveness scores
- The team conforms to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Remaining focused in the face of pressure, delivering against timelines, not intimidated by tasks/time limitations
- Fosters a collegial team environment that empowers team members to remain actively engaged in the Epic product enhancement process and appropriately leverages the team's varied skill set
- Completing projects and tasks independently and with limited direct supervision
Change Control Chair Responsibilities - Lead the Change Advisory Board meetings
- Analyze and provide consultation and input into change management strategies
Requirements
- Experience working in Healthcare IT, specifically in EPIC
- Minimum seven (7) years of progressive growth in field
- Minimum of five (5) years of Management experience or Leadership roles within technical teams highly preferred
- Successful leadership abilities with the focus on bringing people together to execute needs
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business or related field is required; Master's Degree in a healthcare field is preferred.

- Mentoring and skill building: The ability and desire to knowledge share, delegate to, and mentor new leaders

Base Pay Overview The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
