The role requires the CCS certification, which should be obtained soon after hire, and having a CADC or LCADC certification in treating substance use disorders is preferred. A minimum of two years in the administration of behavioral health services, complemented by five years of clinical experience working with psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, will set candidates up for success.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
