Join Our Team as the Director of Behavioral Health Inpatient Services!

Lead the overall management, coordination, and strategic direction of the Robert Young Center's inpatient behavioral health units. In this leadership role, you will drive operational excellence, support the achievement of annual goals, and foster a culture focused on quality patient care, evidence-based practice, and continuous improvement.

As the Director of Behavioral Health Inpatient Services, you will oversee financial performance, staff development, regulatory compliance, and program operations while ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, licensure requirements, and accreditation standards. Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of inpatient behavioral health operations, ensuring quality patient care and achievement of organizational goals.
  • Direct and support leaders and staff through hiring, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, and initiatives that enhance revenue and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and quality reporting requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management programs to drive positive outcomes and regulatory readiness.
  • Oversee audits, investigations, complaints, and corrective action plans while collaborating with key stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Analyze operational and quality metrics, develop action plans, and implement innovative strategies to improve performance and long-term sustainability.
  • Establish and maintain standards of care by promoting evidence-based practices, monitoring patient outcomes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or business required
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field or business preferred

Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a behavioral health care setting with experience working with state and federal regulations required
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive quality management experience preferred

License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Valid RN license in the state(s) of practice, including eligibility under NLC multistate license required upon hire
  • Dual RN licensure required within 90 days of hire/transfer; proof of application acceptable during this timeframe
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • CPI or MOAB certification required within 180 days of hire
  • Stroke education (1 hour) required prior to end of orientation and annually thereafter (within 90 days)
  • ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health certification preferred upon hire
