The Director
is the lead architect in defining an integrated system of University policies, services, and programs that support student academic success - advising, timely registration and payment, student testing, writing and tutoring support, and student assessment - in collaboration with campus partners.
routinely monitors and identifies factors that contribute to student attrition with a goal of developing effective success strategies, in collaboration with campus partners, that powerfully connect students to their educational experience.
provides regular updates to the Provost on factors to enhance student academic success so that institutional response can be timely.
is responsible to lead and coordinate the traditional undergraduate academic advising efforts at the university and ensure that academic advising programs promote student retention initiatives. The Director is tasked with developing a university-wide plan to ensure all departments and faculty are providing optimal and developmentally appropriate academic advising to undergraduate students.
oversees traditional Undergraduate Academic Re-Enrollment and Academic Integrity Violation monitoring, tracking, reporting, and clearance approvals.
will work with Enrollment Management and leaders of graduate and professional programs to develop a collaborative system that scaffolds graduate and professional students for success - issuing reminders of key points of interaction - course registration, billing cycles, and advising cycles with program staff/faculty.
provides leadership to a team that plans and implements exceptional testing and student assessment services to increase overall student success for the APU main campus and all regional campuses and locations, as well as non-APU students who utilize our testing services within the local community.
is responsible for recruitment and hiring practices, education and training, and monitoring and evaluation of the Academic Advising, Testing Center, and Writing & Tutoring Center staff. The Director serves as Administrator for the Academic Success Lab Courses (GE 101), which includes course scheduling, curriculum development, hiring, training, and supervising Adjunct Professors for the course.
is responsible for managing the Academic Advising and Retention platform and technology resources from the user end, ensuring that systems provided meet the University's needs by understanding department needs and utilizing University Dashboards to monitor enrollment and manage the team providing outreach support initiatives.
provides routine updates to the Provost and VP Enrollment Management on enrollment data as it pertains to term-to-term persistence and traditional undergraduate new student onboarding and registration.

Compensation:
Grade 18: $98,456 - $113,225 is the annual compensation for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity.In addition to compensation, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
