Reporting to the Dean, Academic Quality, Planning, and Flexibility, the Director, Academic Quality and Teaching Innovation (the "Director") provides strategic leadership for Sheridan's Centre for Teaching and Learning (SPARK), overseeing a team responsible for curriculum development and quality assurance, educational technology, and faculty professional development. The Director, in collaboration with the Dean, Academic Quality, Planning, and Flexibility, sets the vision and priorities for SPARK, ensures alignment with institutional academic planning and regulatory requirements, and represents the Centre at senior academic governance tables. The Director builds and maintains relationships with Deans, Associate Deans, and institutional partners, oversees the Centre's program and service portfolio, leads continuous improvement of SPARK's offerings, and provides leadership and direction to a team. The Director is accountable for quality outcomes across all program development, review, and renewal processes, and for the effectiveness of faculty-facing educational development programming.

What You'll Be Doing

• Implementing the vision, priorities, and strategic direction for SPARK, ensuring alignment with institutional academic planning and regulatory requirements;
• Providing direction, leadership and oversight to a team by building capacity across curriculum development/quality assurance, educational technology, and faculty professional development functions;
• Holding accountability for quality outcomes across all program development, review, and renewal processes, ensuring rigor and compliance with academic standards;
• Overseeing SPARK's full program and service portfolio and leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of faculty-facing educational development programming;
• Representing SPARK at senior academic governance tables and builds/maintains strategic relationships with Deans, Associate Deans, and institutional partners across the college;
• Performing additional Responsibilities, projects and initiatives, as required.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

• Master's degree in Education or related field; Ph.D (preferred)
• 7 years of professional management/leadership or progressive work experience in a post-secondary education setting (equivalency to be considered)
• Strong connections to the education sector with an understanding of emerging trends & issues
• Post-secondary teaching experience and experience in curriculum development and design
• Familiarity with educational technology
• Teaching and course development experience at the post-secondary education level
• Experience in financial budgeting, management and reporting awareness of Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities (preferred)
