This job participates in activities that support high quality nursing care and ensures adherence to the highest standards of nursing care and practice. Focuses on coordination of education, training, and competency assessment for the clinical staff; regulatory compliance; patient education; safety organizational operations; and performance improvement activities. Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN) required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities. Work Experience Required - 5 years of related experience. Certifications Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) 3 Knowledge of nursing practice, regulatory requirements, and Nursing Practice Act. 3 Clinical skills and ability to perform nursing responsibilities. 3 Ability to demonstrate a professional attitude and relate to executive management. 3 Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. 3 Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. 3 Good organizational skills. 3 Good leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and ability to demonstrate good judgement in performing duties. Job Duties 3 Develops processes that ensure overall safety of patients and employees. 3 Strives to continuously improve all aspects of the business operation through quality improvement initiatives. 3 Monitors the practice of nursing and ensures safe nursing practice. 3 Monitors and oversees clinical and quality indicators. 3 Develops and implements strategies to drive engagement while also ensuring accountability. 3 Determines appropriate staffing levels and interviews, hires, and conducts performance reviews of employees as necessary. 3 Works with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and management staff to ensure training issues are addressed for new and existing services provided. 3 Manages monthly financial statements for fluctuation in variable expenses, identifies trends and makes recommendations. 3 Prepares for reviews and approval of preliminary capital and human resources budgets. 3 Performs other related duties as required. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible. Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
