Job DescriptionWithin the Electronic Systems sector of BAE Systems, Inc., the business area of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) develops systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.
Within C4ISR and its Adaptive Communications & Sensing (AC&S) product line, the Program Area Director, Airborne Tactical Radios (ATR) will ensure achievement of financial, schedule, technical, and new business performance objectives for a strategic portfolio of products and more than 100,000 military radios deployed globally.
Responsibilities of this position include and are not limited to:
- Leading the Airborne Tactical Radios (ATR) program area through all phases of the capture and program lifecycle with profit & loss accountability. As a component, the selected candidate will coach and mentor a muti-layered team including six direct reports.
- Diagnosing program performance concerns and developing solutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction objectives.
- Developing and executing a strategy to deliver an ATR integrated business and technology growth plan.
- Applying the use of earned value management techniques and other analytical industry best practices to achieve programmatic aims.
- Communicating effectively and working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization to achieve results. As a component, interact frequently with senior-level executives and customers concerning projects, operational decisions, contracts, and strategies.
- Modeling and demonstrating strong leadership in ethics, safety, and security.
Required Skills and Education- A bachelor's degree with 12+ years of general business or project/program management experience
- Previous leadership and management of cross-functional teams
- A demonstrated history of developing creative solutions to highly complex project/program management challenges
- Financial management experience and expertise and a history of executing to revenue and profit targets
- Direct customer relationship management experience with U.S. Department of War customers
- Ability to procure a Top Secret U.S. security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education- Master's degree
- Experience in the defense industry
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or DAWIA Level 11/111
- Hands-on experience leading production programs with transition to production knowledge
- Prior experience leading International Defense programs and pursuits
