About this job:Responsible for the nutritional integrity of the meal service provided by the District. Develops menus that are compliant with United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutrition guidelines, analyze menus for nutritional compliance and provides oversight of all special student dietary needs.
Note: This is a central-based role within Enterprise Management (not school-based).
What You\'ll Do: - Responsible for accurate input and corrections of all products in the department\'s inventory control software, including but not limited to menu and a la carte product ingredients, serving size, pack size, and other nutritional and product information; updates information as needed on a timely basis including, daily, weekly, monthly and annually
- Builds menus based on standardized recipes that meet meal pattern and nutritional analysis requirements, ensuring compliance with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations; inputs and maintains menus for Kitchen Managers to utilize in production forecasting and record-keeping; and publishes menus for the community with accurate and up-to-date menu items and nutritional information
- Responsible for all special dietary needs; coordinatres the development of any special menus and special product purchasing; provides accurate and timely nutritional information to district nursing staff; and keeps carb list up to date
- Maintains all CN labels for all menu items served
- Participates in product testing and coordinates closely with the menu team to develop recipes that meet Child Nutrition Program requirements; collects feedback on offered menu choices from students, staff and community via taste tests, surveys, focus groups, etc.
- Provides training on handling special diet requests to kitchen staff
- Participates in the development and implementation of the District\'s Wellness Policy, assists with department marketing and promotion efforts and supports the department through grant writing
- Attends state and national meetings to remain abreast of new rules and regulations and monitors and ensures compliance with all federal, state, county and district regulations related to Child Nutrition Programs
What You\'ll Need: - Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialing by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a community based or school food service setting
- Must have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver\'s License, a good driving record for the past three years and meet District insurability standards
- Experience with management software, particularly nutritional analysis is preferred
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
