Job Duties: The Foreman will be responsible for leading site operations to safely deliver high-quality drilling results for Hy-Tech Drilling's clients. This role provides leadership, direction, and support to the drill crew, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with Hy-Tech's standards and procedures. The Foreman will supervise and coordinate the activities of workers supporting Hy-Tech Drilling's underground and surface mining operations.
- Leading and supervising the drill crew, setting expectations for safety, performance, and quality standards
- Oversee the operation and performance of company-designed and fabricated drilling equipment
- Train and mentor crews on internal equipment systems and operating procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues specific to proprietary drilling rigs and components
- Ensuring all drilling activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and best practices
- Coordinating daily with Geologists and internal teams to plan drilling activities and manage site progress
- Promoting a strong safety culture, including hazard identification, incident reporting, and leading safety meetings
- Supporting crew development through coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Overseeing drill site setup, moves, and overall site organization to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Monitoring equipment use, maintenance, and inspections to ensure reliability and compliance
- Managing site documentation, reporting, and inventory using company systems
- Oversee the safety of Hy-Tech Drilling's mining operations and requesting materials and supplies
- Representing Hy-Tech professionally on site and maintaining strong client relationships
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time Rotational schedule, dependent on job location (4/2, 3/3, or 2/2).

Wage: CAD $775 per day (Increased salary through meter-based bonuses)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Driver's Licence and provide a current Driver's Abstract
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in the diamond drilling industry, including both Underground and Surface operations
- Demonstrated experience supporting the setup, modification, and optimization of custom or non-standard drilling equipment in field conditions
- Experience working with company-specific or internally fabricated drilling equipment
- Proven experience supervising drill crews in remote and/or multi-site environments, including crew coordination, performance management, and safety leadership
- Advanced mechanical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues in the field
- Demonstrated expertise in planning, setting up, and overseeing complex drill programs (e.g., deep hole drilling, directional drilling, or challenging ground conditions)
- Experience operating and leading crews using customized or proprietary drilling equipment, including training and mentoring employees on non-standard systems
- Maintain a clear Criminal Record Check (site-specific requirement)
- Hold a valid First Aid Certificate
- Working proficiency with basic computer applications, including email, spreadsheets, and drilling data entry/reporting systems
- Fully trained and competent on multiple types of diamond drilling equipment prior to independent operation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Underground Shift Boss Certificate (BC Ministry of Energy and Mines)
- Ontario Common Core (OCC)
- Previous experience in a Foreman or senior supervisory role overseeing multiple crews or drill rigs
- Experience working directly with clients, geologists, or project teams to adjust and execute drill programs
