Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: This position prioritizes, provides, and promotes quality patient care to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Swedish Medical Center. This position manages all personnel, supplies, and equipment for the departments and promotes teamwork with physicians, personnel, and other departments. At the direction of the Director of Patient Care for Medical Imaging, oversee the technical staff in the designated sections of the Medical Imaging Department. This person will make recommendations to the Director of Patient Care for Medical Imaging regarding equipment modification and essential construction within the department. Oversee technical procedures and work flow to ensure safe and effective patient care. Act as a role model and facilitator working in collaboration with all levels of the Medical Imaging Department's personnel, as well as the referring physicians and hospital departments. This person shall manage staffing, patient and physician concerns, as well as clinical activities. Assume the responsibility of the Medical Imaging Department in the director's absence. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by the director. Assistant Director maintains 24 hour accountability.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through AHA or ARC.

Preferred registered technologist with current certification by the ARRT or NMTCB and CE compliance.

Education: Bachelor degree required.

Experience: One-year previous management experience in Medical Imaging preferred. Minimum two years management experience/supervisory experience desired.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Critical thinking, supervisory, leadership, and interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital. Management and independent judgment skills required to assess in planning and directing a smoothly running department on a 24-hour basis to ensure optimal outcomes for the patients.
