What you will be doing: We are seeking an experienced
Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the design, implementation, automation, and security of cloud-based infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, infrastructure as code, containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation.
This individual will work closely with software developers, cloud engineers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders to build and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable environments. The Senior DevSecOps Engineer will also help drive automation and security best practices throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure in AWS.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or OpenTofu.
- Build, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate application builds, testing, security scanning, and deployments.
- Deploy, configure, and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Develop and maintain Helm charts and deployment configurations for Kubernetes environments.
- Integrate security practices and tools throughout the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Support AWS cloud architecture, engineering, administration, and security efforts.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, application, deployment, and security issues.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities across cloud and containerized environments.
- Work closely with development and security teams to promote DevSecOps best practices and a secure-by-design approach.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, deployment procedures, and operational processes.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve infrastructure, automation, security, and deployment capabilities.
Position Requirements Minimum Requirements: Experience:
- Extensive experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, or a similar technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS cloud environments.
- Experience with AWS cloud architecture, engineering, and security best practices.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or OpenTofu.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience building and managing containerized applications using Docker.
- Experience creating and managing Kubernetes deployments using Helm.
- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, application, networking, and deployment issues.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, access management, networking, and secure infrastructure design.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting AWS environments within large, complex, or highly regulated organizations.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps practices in a government, federal, or enterprise environment.
- Experience with automated security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance automation.
- Familiarity with GitOps practices and modern deployment methodologies.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
- AWS certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Security Specialty.
- Experience with WANDS is highly desired.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
Education :
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Certifications:
- Desirable: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365.
Ideal Candidate
- The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer who is comfortable working across cloud infrastructure, automation, containers, CI/CD, and security. They should be able to troubleshoot complex technical issues, recommend improvements, and help guide technical decisions while remaining actively involved in engineering and implementation.
Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. The ability to move files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary would be required.
