Position SummaryThis role involves building and deploying a cutting-edge technology stack as part of a 10-year program modernizing the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P). The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver mission-critical capabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture.
- Support systems administration, installation, and configuration.
- Promote adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big-data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability.
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments.
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements.
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities.
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models.
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's degree.
- Strong Linux proficiency.
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience operating systems at scale.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
- Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems.
- Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS).
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with GPU-based Kubernetes.
- Experience with SALT for deployment automation.
- Experience with Helm / Helmfile.
- Experience with Nexus.
Required Education and Experience Equivalency- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Master's degree with 6+ years of experience.
