As a DevOps Software Engineer, you'll help design, deploy, and maintain a full-stack, containerized microservices architecture. You'll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of DevOps best practices across cross-functional engineering teams. In this fast-paced environment, you'll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of developers, other software integrators and system administrators to:
- Deploy, triage and maintain a production big data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka
Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation to accelerate development and improve reliability - Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities
What You Bring
- You're enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Possess at least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP (or Associate)
- Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy
- Strong Linux proficiency, specifically knowledgeable about sysctls for K8s environments and experience with FApolicyd and SELinux
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes (e.g., Ingress/Gateway API, Helm chart design/build, pod disruption budgets, affinity/anti-affinity rules, familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, eck (elastic search))
- Experience with GitLab pipeline development (e.g., integration of GitLab CI/CD components, code quality reports, coverage/test reports)
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments

- Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS)
- Kubernetes monitoring, e.g., Prometheus/ Graphana
- GPU-based Kubernetes
- SALT for deployment automation
- Nexus
Pay Rate
Salary range considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
