Responsibilities

  • Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using microservice architecture with Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
  • Enhance CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes, including AI solutions for failure analysis and security compliance.
  • Design and support scalable infrastructure across physical and virtualized environments.
  • Configure Kubernetes for continuous deployments using ArgoCD.
  • Collaborate with System Engineers on new feature designs and requirements.
  • Provide technical input to systems engineering documentation with SE and Architect teams.
  • Participate in Agile release planning, scrum activities, and design sessions.

Full Job Description

As a DevOps Engineer you will contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized microservices architecture as well as technical systems administration, installation, and configuration. You will participate in fostering a DevOps culture, building strong cross functional collaboration with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams, in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of developers, other software integrators and system administrators on the following key tasks:

  • To deploy, triage and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch backend, and Kafka messaging

  • Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes including AI-integrated solutions for failure analysis, security and compliance to facilitate faster development, quicker error detection and resilient deployments

  • Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant infrastructure to include physical and virtualized environments

  • Configure Kubernetes (Helm, YAML, etc.) continuous deployments using ArgoCD.

  • Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions for new features and requirements

  • Provide technical input to systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models working in coordination/collaboration with SE team members and Architect team

  • Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions and other meetings

  • Develop PaaS solutions for hybrid deployments and secure multi-tenant GPU sharing solutions in a the Kubernetes environments.

You bring enthusiasm, the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience, and meet the following qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years in software development, system engineering or related field. 6+ years of experience with Masters degree.

  • Must have an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance

  • Possess at least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP (or Associate)

  • Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy

  • Experienced with container/container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes and troubleshooting experience with:

  • Ingress/Gateway API

  • Multi-tenant GPU sharing

  • Helm chart design/build

  • Pod disruption budgets

  • Affinity/anti-affinity rules

  • Familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, eck (elastic search)

GitLab pipeline development experience including:

  • Integration of GitLab CI/CD components

  • Integration of GitLab Code Quality reports

  • Integration of GitLab Code Coverage/Test reports

Knowledgeable in navigating Linux OS, specifically:

  • Knowledgeable about sysctls for K8s environments

  • FApolicyd and SELinux experience

  • Comfortable with Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana

  • Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution

  • Experience with systems at scale

  • Experience/knowledge of key Agile processes and techniques

  • Experience with development, i.e. Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.

  • Experience on a production/ enterprise system

Experience with any of the following technologies:

  • Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS)

  • Kubernetes monitoring, e.g., Prometheus/ Grafana, Open Telemetry

  • SALT for deployment automation

  • Nexus

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
