Description

Fervo is hiring a Development Manager, Energy Solutions to help shape how Fervo's projects deliver power to customers with distinct or complex energy needs, including flexible, on-site, and behind-the-meter configurations that bridge the timing gap between generation and load. You will own the commercial and technical integration of these energy solutions from early concept through financeable, executable agreements, working closely with the Transmission & Interconnection, Commercial, Finance, and Legal teams. Reporting directly to the Head of Development, this role is ideal for someone who moves fluidly between deal structuring, technical feasibility, and stakeholder management, and who is energized by building a new capability inside a fast-moving development organization.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Energy Solutions Development & Deal Execution
  • Own the path from concept to a financeable, executable agreement for Fervo's advanced energy delivery arrangements, including decision logs, risk registers, and critical-path tracking, and make sure commercial terms and technical requirements stay aligned.
  • Structure and negotiate commercial terms for flexible and on-site power arrangements, partnering with Legal and Origination on contract frameworks, term sheets, and deal comparisons.
  • Coordinate with the Transmission & Interconnection team on technical feasibility, interconnection pathways, and utility requirements that inform deal structure and schedule.

Technical & Resource Integration
  • Partner with Fervo's subsurface, drilling and completions, and engineering teams to align the geothermal resource plan with microgrid design an on-site load requirements.
  • Translate resource characteristics, generation profiles, and technical constraints into commercial and financing assumptions for behind-the-meter and microgrid deals.
  • Serve as the connective link between the geothermal resource, the microgrid, on-site power needs, so all are engineered, built and operated as one coherent system.

Financeability & Cross-Functional Integration
  • Translate technical and commercial inputs into a coherent, lender-ready narrative in partnership with Finance and Capital Markets.
  • Identify and track the risks, dependencies, and open issues that could affect financeability or executability, and drive them to resolution across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials that clearly communicate deal status, tradeoffs, and recommendations for senior leadership.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers and partners exploring energy solutions with Fervo, building trust through clear, responsive communication.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, independent power producers, equipment providers, and other market participants relevant to flexible and on-site generation.
  • Track market, regulatory, and technology trends relevant to flexible generation and energy delivery, and translate them into implications for Fervo's development strategy.

Process & Tools
  • Help build the playbooks, templates, and internal tools that let this work scale as Fervo's pipeline of energy solutions opportunities grows.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in power project development, structured/project finance, or commercial roles within power generation or energy infrastructure.
  • Experience structuring or negotiating commercial agreements for power delivery (e.g., PPAs, interconnection agreements, EPC/O&M).
  • Working knowledge of behind-the-meter and on-site generation, interconnection processes, and flexible generation economics.
  • Comfortable reading and pressure-testing financial models and technical studies; able to translate complexity into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Highly organized self-starter, comfortable managing multiple workstreams and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
