DescriptionBrivo is looking for a technically sharp, process-minded Developer Advocate to own our API certification program. In this role, you'll be the bridge between Brivo's API platform and the tech partners who build on it, validating that their integrations meet our technical standards before they go live. You will work hands-on with partner code and test results, while also managing the certification pipeline end-to-end, coordinating with engineering, and improving the program itself over time.

- Develop and maintain sample apps, AI skills, and API documentation that developers actually want to use
- Own the API certification program end-to-end, from intake through sign-off, to ensure our customers have access to reliable, highly performant integrations
- Partner directly with engineering to flag API gaps, identify enhancements, and surfaced through certification, giving you a real voice in the platform's roadmap.
- Use AI-assisted development and agentic tools to speed up code review, testing, and documentation, building the workflow the way you'd want it, not the way it's always been done.
- Perform hands-on validation of new API endpoints, admin portal tools, and developer dashboard capabilities prior to release.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise- 2-4 years of experience in a developer-facing role such as developer relations, technical support engineering, solutions engineering, or software development.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted development tools, agentic workflows (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor), and AI-related integration standards (e.g., MCP)
- Proficiency reading and writing code in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Java).
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication schemes (OAuth 2.0, API keys).
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman, Insomnia) and debugging integration issues.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and issue tracking tools (Jira, Asana, or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple partner relationships and certification requests at the same time.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and external partners.
- Detail-oriented with a strong process and quality mindset.
- Prior experience in API integration, certification, or partner onboarding programs is a plus.
- Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI, Redoc, Readme.io) is a plus.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated testing frameworks is a plus.
- Experience in physical security, IoT, or access control industries is a plus.
