Full Job Description
Summary

The Project Designer is responsible for developing detailed engineering models and drawings for modular power generation packages utilizing reciprocating engines ranging from 500KW-5MW. Responsibilities will range from detailed fabrication drawings for enclosures and skids to plot plans for micro-grids.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

  • Producing detailed design drawings of structural skids, auxiliary drawings and bill of materials lists for the engineering and production functions.
  • Work directly with project engineers, purchasing, fabrication shop and outside fabricators when issues arise to keep projects moving forward.
  • Creating complex plant modular models.
  • Generating piping isometric drawings
  • Working directly with engineering teams to perform detailed analysis.
  • Working closely with our production teams in our fabrication facility to ensure accurate, timely and high-quality units in a safety sensitive environment,
  • Address issues as needed with internal customers.
  • Initiate new creative ideas, methods or "looks" for our designs to make them more cost effective, easier to build and to better meet the needs of the customer.
  • Implementation of design guidelines, as well as making sure these guidelines are understood and incorporated into projects.
  • Obtaining feedback from our internal and external customers. Implementing this feedback back into our designs for improvements.


Qualifications

  • Five (or more) years designing skid mounted equipment, ehouses, or modular equipment required.
  • Experience with power generation packages including enclosures, radiators and exhaust systems preferred.
  • Experience designing and manufacturing enclosures complying to building codes or with noise reduction preferred.
  • Proficient using AutoCAD and CADWorx.
  • Proficient with 3-D CAD design. Ability to visualize in three dimensions.
  • Thorough knowledge of drafting standards, detailing, and dimensioning of various required drawings, P&ID's, and AutoCAD software.
  • Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent drafting practices
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
  • Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and PC skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision, close attention to detail.
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written communications.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and work with the team in developing improved work processes.
  • Overtime as required.
