About the Role

We're growing our denim team and looking for a Designer who can own categories, not just tasks. You'll design men's and women's denim tops and bottoms from concept through execution, translate trend into commercially smart product, and be a real thought partner to our Senior Designer and Design leadership on wash, fit, and fabric direction each season.
Key Responsibilities

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT & EXECUTION
  • Interpret seasonal direction and creative briefs from senior designers and leadership, translating them into a cohesive denim assortment.
  • Create CAD sketches, construction details, and print recolors with a high level of proficiency.
  • Develop silhouettes, prints, fabrications, and color palettes for assigned men's and women's denim tops and bottoms categories.
  • Independently own projects from concept to completion, including design handoffs and approvals.
  • Lead fittings, assess garment construction, and provide clear, actionable feedback to Technical Design.
  • Prepare tech packs for costing and set up production BOMs for fabric, trim, and packaging.
  • Partner directly with mills and laundries on wash development, novelty finishes, and new fabrication opportunities.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION
  • Partner with merchandising, product development, technical design, licensing, and sales teams to align creative direction with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with patternmakers and sewers to execute design intent and ensure quality standards.
  • Support sourcing by creating development and sourcing sheets, concept approvals, and fabric/trim boards.
  • Oversee junior designers' work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely completion.

PROCESS & SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT
  • Maintain PLM systems with up-to-date tracking, approvals, and style information for your categories.
  • Organize and prepare sample racks, shipments to buyers, and market samples.
  • Assist in preparing trend presentations, market analysis reports, and seasonal assortments.

MARKET RESEARCH & TREND ANALYSIS
  • Conduct market and trend research to identify new opportunities across men's and women's denim.
  • Provide sales teams with market intelligence and competitive insights.
  • Contribute to conceptual presentations and seasonal strategy planning.

GENERAL SUPPORT & ADMINISTRATION
  • Assist with organizing design files, documents, and in-house sample cut tickets.
  • Coordinate buyer and licensor shipments and approvals.
  • Prepare materials for internal and external presentations.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 3-6 years of denim or apparel design experience, with real ownership of product from concept to bulk.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent experience.
  • Strong command of denim construction, wash processes, and garment dye/finishing techniques.
  • Advanced Illustrator and Photoshop skills; comfortable in Excel and PLM systems.
  • A portfolio demonstrating both design point of view and technical execution across men's or women's denim.
  • Confident presenting concepts and defending design decisions to cross-functional partners and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines across several style groups at once.
  • Experience working directly with overseas vendors, mills, or laundries on development.
