We are searching for the best talent for the Design Technician role in Warsaw, IN.
You will be responsible for:Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
- Developing and designing surgical proposals, completing segmentation designs for total knee replacement (TKA) from computer Tomography (CT) images, CAD models and product drawings by following standardized work instructions.
- Ability to cross train in multiple departments
- Analyzing patient CT images to optimize product design, and partnering with a case management coordinator to prioritize proposals and product designs based on customer demand.
- Checking and releasing previously designed image segmentation, proposals and models to ensure a high level of quality.
- Assist with concept development under the supervision of Product Development Engineers, or be assigned to special projects as needed.
- Work closely with Process Improvement Engineers to troubleshoot, solve problems, and provide suggestions for future improvements.
- Maintain a schedule of deadlines and tasks, and possess the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience working in team-oriented project groups is strongly preferred
- Able to take initiative & be self-managing
- Provide feedback & may mentor as required
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
- For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering or related technical field.
- A minimum of 1 years of design experience with CAD/CAM systems and advanced design applications.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of related job experience preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS- Knowledge of three-dimensional modeling and PLM software is required.
- Knowledge of orthopedic product design is required.
- Knowledge of orthopedic anatomy and medical terminology is highly preferred.
- Drafting and layout experience, project or product management, GD&T, ASME, rapid prototyping applications, free form modeling techniques, and engineering calculations is preferred.
Unigraphics/ NX, AMIRA, MIMICS, Parametric software experience, GeoMagic, and PLM experience is preferred.
LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS- Up to 5% domestic travel required.
