What you will do

At Johnson Controls, we’re redefining how engineering teams design, validate, and innovate—and we’re looking for a Design Review Automation Specialist to lead the charge.

In this high-impact role, you’ll build and drive a data-powered feedback loop for engineering design reviews, leveraging cutting-edge tools like CoLab and AutoReview AI. You’ll turn insights into action—analyzing design data, uncovering recurring challenges, and continuously evolving engineering standards to elevate quality, speed, and consistency across the organization.

Location: this position is based at our Advanced Engineering and Development Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.

How you will do it

  • Analyze CoLab Design Review and AutoReview AI outputs to uncover trends, risks, and recurring design issues

  • Define and track key performance indicators such as review cycle time, defect detection rate, and rework reduction

  • Build dynamic dashboards that drive smarter, faster engineering decisions

  • Design and implement a closed-loop system that transforms review feedback into improved standards and validation methods

  • Continuously refine AI validation rules and logic to enhance accuracy and impact

  • Partner across engineering teams to maximize the effectiveness of AI-driven reviews

  • Translate engineering standards into structured checklists and AI-driven validation rules

  • Develop and maintain reusable templates, playbooks, and best-practice examples

  • Strengthen consistency and scalability across engineering processes

  • Ensure seamless alignment between CAD (Creo) and PLM (Windchill) data structures

  • Support critical change management processes (ECR, CN, FCN)

  • Collaborate with PLM teams to improve workflow clarity and efficiency

  • Partner with engineering, quality, and PLM teams to drive alignment and innovation

  • Create training materials and guidance to accelerate adoption of new tools and processes

  • Champion enterprise-wide standardization initiatives


What you will bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Creo (3D & 2D)

  • Working knowledge of Windchill or other PLM systems

  • Experience with design reviews, data analysis, and continuous improvement

  • US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident

Preferred

  • Experience with CoLab Design Review or similar collaboration tools

  • Familiarity with AI tools, automation workflows, or rule-based validation systems

  • Experience building dashboards (e.g., Power BI)

  • Knowledge of engineering standards development and governance

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
