Job Description

Stantec is seeking a Design Integration Lead to support Metro Vancouver's Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant Program. Working as part of the Iona Program Management Team (IPMT), you will provide technical and design integration, and project management support throughout the planning, design, and implementation of a major wastewater treatment infrastructure project. This is a unique opportunity to help deliver one of the largest wastewater treatment plant programs in Canada and play a key role in shaping sustainable infrastructure for future generations.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and wastewater treatment expertise in support of major treatment plant projects.
  • Lead and coordinate interface management, issues and decisions and participate in and support project management activities including risk management, cost estimating
  • Lead and coordinate design review activities for design submissions, technical memoranda, reports, and engineering deliverables.
  • Act as a primary interface between Metro Vancouver, Stantec subject matter experts, and the Design Consultant to facilitate timely review and resolution of technical issues.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary technical input and ensure reviews are completed consistently and efficiently.
  • Facilitate collaboration across project stakeholders, including Metro Vancouver staff, consultants, contractors, and technical working groups.
  • Participate in and support project management activities including budgeting, scheduling, governance processes, and decision management.
  • Lead or support workshops, design reviews, technical meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and registration with EGBC, or eligibility for registration.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience delivering municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong understanding of design management principles, project delivery processes, and quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage complex technical interfaces, and facilitate collaborative decision-making among diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of municipal and regional government governance, procurement, and capital project delivery processes.
  • Experience supporting risk management, cost management, scheduling, and overall project governance activities.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, technical writing, and stakeholder management skills.
