Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Work with management, sales, and marketing to establish product designs and improvements.
- Create and evaluate design ideas, considering form, function, cost, and manufacturability.
- Design components and assemblies to meet industry and customer needs.
- Define materials, production costs, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with internal departments and customers as part of cross-functional teams.
- Track time, report metrics, and provide technical support.
- Mentor less-experienced team members and assist in process development.
- Use engineering judgment to adapt methods for non-routine tasks.
- Use SolidWorks 2D/3D CAD software and MS Office.
- Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
- Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
- Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
- Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation and Experience- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a related technical field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- May require use of technical equipment, measuring devices, and computer systems.
- Requires finger dexterity, near vision, and ability to interpret visual data.
Working ConditionsWork is performed primarily in a production and office environment with exposure to machinery, moderate noise, and standard shop materials. Travel is required on occasion.CompetenciesKnowledge- Advanced knowledge of engineering concepts applied to product design and validation.
- Proficiency in creating detailed CAD models and interpreting technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of quality systems, industry standards, and cost analysis.
- Knowledge of connector product lifecycle from concept to production.
