Title: Deputy County Attorney: General Social Services Division

Salary: $87,000 - $125,000 annually based on experience

Description of Duties

The Monroe County Law Department is seeking an attorney to serve in its General Social Services Division. The General Social Services Division provides professional legal representation to the Monroe County Division of Social Services in order to advocate the delivery of the Division's services, including public assistance, Medicaid, and guardianships, and to maximize the collection of monies owed the Division of Social Services. The employee(s) work under the general supervision of the County Attorney and/or one or more senior level Deputy County Attorneys

Minimum Qualifications

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE(S):
  1. The attorney(s) must be duly licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
  1. The ideal candidate(s) will have paid or unpaid experience at a prosecutor, public defender, or municipal law department office, private law firm or judicial office is preferred.
  1. The attorneys(s) must have the ability to work well with judges, lawyers, court administrators, and other individuals within the court system.
