We are seeking an experienced Deputy CIO who will assist the CIO in managing IT, overseeing daily operations, providing tactical support, implementing strategy, managing staff, controlling budgets and ensuring technology supports business goals while focusing on service delivery. The Deputy CIO also oversees the relationship with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and other vendors, ensuring infrastructure and technology are supporting the organization for delivery of services, and that different technologies within the total technological ecosystem can effectively "talk" to each other to efficiently deliver data and insights for departmental decision making. Serves as the CIO in their absence, ensuring continuity.

The Awesome Things You'll Do
  • Manage and oversee the MSP (Managed Service Provider) and portfolio of IT vendors and contracts - renewals, invoicing, billing.
  • The Deputy CIO will divide their time between Strategic planning, assisting with the development of the roadmap. Tactical work - Project Management and executive sponsorship and Operational tasks including the oversight of the Goodwill Systems Engineers, ITBPs (IT Business Partners), Procurement, Data Analysis and Data Integration Team members.
  • Oversee Website vendor(s) and Systems Engineer in support of websites. This includes Domain renewals and Certs.
  • Serves as the systems administrator for various system e.g. Dynamics 365 F&O (D365), OMH and others.
  • Take lead on policy updates and development, where applicable.
  • Work with the CIO to prepare a long-term plan for capital projects based on business goals and the IT roadmap.
  • Keep fully apprised of ongoing enhancements and technology initiatives in the various business units and departments, ensuring consistency in delivery of services and support.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, e.g. AI, and how they can be utilized by the business to improve processes and bring about efficiencies.

Activities are subject to change / be added to meet business needs with management approval.

Our Must Haves
  • Strong vendor relationship skills and experience and understanding of and experience with the Business Partner model.
  • Experience with Cyber security, Disaster Recovery and Incident Response Plan and Testing.
  • Strong Operational and Tactical skills.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels on business projects including subject matter experts and vendors.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills: ability to prioritize multiple projects, set and meet deadlines.
  • Highly collaborative with excellent communications skills in both technical and non-technical contexts.
  • Able to work independently, recommend ideas for innovation.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office suite a must.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer Science or similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of Executive IT leadership and management experience.
  • Strong Project Management experience.
  • Ability to frame strategy and convert to IT execution plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including creation and delivery of Power Point presentations.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts with all Business areas in order to understand, plan, implement and support future systems and enable the business units to think past immediate requirements to future capability and capacity building.

Special Working Conditions
  • Occasional inspection of equipment.
  • Occasional visits to existing offices and retail locations.
  • Oversight of IT Vendors, contractors and other temporary staff.
  • The position may require the performance of other essential and non-essential job duties in addition to those enumerated above which will be determined at the discretion of management.
