Deployment Engineering Manager

The Deployment Engineering Manager supports the Director of Deployment Engineering in establishing and sustaining a Deployment Engineering project office. This role leads a team that supports all Natrium projects and serves as the primary point of accountability for communication between Site Engineering, Natrium central engineering, construction, procurement, licensing, the utility partner, equipment vendors, and major subcontractors. The position ensures rapid resolution of technical issues related to equipment fabrication and construction while driving the development and implementation of the tools, processes, and procedures needed to support the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage communications and coordination between Natrium Central Engineering and onsite Site Design Engineering teams; set priorities, track progress, and ensure timely closure of engineering tasks supporting construction activities. Escalate unresolved or high-impact issues to senior leadership.
• Support workforce planning by identifying resource needs based on project inputs, team capabilities, construction schedule demands, and long-range forecasts.
• Strengthen interfaces between Site Design Engineering, Fabrication Engineering, and other interfacing organizations, with emphasis on clear, streamlined communication that minimizes delays and improves decision-making.
• Organize and lead stakeholder meetings to drive resolution of cross-cutting engineering issues.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Deployment Engineering organization to improve performance, efficiency, and alignment with project goals.
• Interface with key stakeholders, including construction management, field engineering, licensing and regulatory affairs, quality assurance, the utility partner, procurement, suppliers, external regulators (e.g., NRC), and home office functions.
• Partner with the home office engineering organization to develop and implement training and qualification plans for site design engineering disciplines, ensuring personnel competency and compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
• Champion employee development through targeted training, mentoring, and assignment of growth-oriented responsibilities within the Natrium program.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and indoctrination of new team members to ensure alignment with nuclear quality assurance programs, Natrium Engineering procedures, and project standards.
• Proactively manage competing priorities and resource conflicts; partner with team leads to resolve issues at the working level and escalate high-impact matters as needed.
• Represent the Director of Site Design Engineering at meetings or onsite activities as delegated.

Key Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related discipline) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 15+ years of construction, manufacturing, testing and/or project management experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in project engineering supporting geographically dispersed teams working on a common project.
• Ability to interface with construction, procurement, quality, licensing, and regulatory entities to assist in resolving complex onsite technical issues while maintaining schedule and safety priorities.
• Ability to interface with supply chain and equipment fabrication vendors to assist in resolving issues encountered during equipment fabrication.
• Demonstrated ability to forecast resource needs, coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, and drive execution in dynamic, schedule-driven project settings.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Familiarity with sodium-cooled fast reactor technology, advanced nuclear systems, or DOE-funded demonstration projects is desirable.

Job details

Salary Range: $163,423 - $217,898

Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
