The Dentist provides comprehensive general dentistry services to patients of all ages while supporting and supervising dental assistants and hygienists. This role blends clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and community engagement in a collaborative rural health setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and emergency dental services, including:
- Exams, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Restorative dentistry
- Crown and bridge
- Uncomplicated endodontics
- Minor oral surgery
- Initiate and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab studies
- Prescribe medications and administer local anesthesia
- Coordinate referrals for specialty care as needed
- Supervise dental assistants and dental hygienists
- Provide mentorship and participate in staff training
- Participate in community outreach and dental programs
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation
Qualifications:
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
- Active North Carolina dental license in good standing
- Competency in general dentistry, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and minor oral surgery
- Commitment to working with diverse populations
- Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills
