Full Job Description
Akicita Federal is hiring a Dentist to deliver comprehensive oral health care to underserved tribal communities served by the Indian Health Service in Warm Springs, OR. This is an opportunity to make a direct, lasting impact on the health and well-being of Native American patients who depend on IHS for access to quality dental services. You will be the primary dental provider at this location, bringing both clinical expertise and a commitment to patient-centered care.

- Diagnose and treat a full range of dental conditions including caries, periodontal disease, oral infections, and trauma

- Perform restorative procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and crown preparations

- Provide preventive care services including cleanings, sealants, fluoride treatments, and oral health education

- Evaluate patients' dental and medical histories to inform safe, effective treatment planning

- Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and clinical findings accurately in the electronic health record system

- Coordinate referrals to specialty dental or medical providers when clinical needs exceed available services

- Engage patients and families with culturally respectful communication and education to support long-term oral health

- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited institution

- Current, valid dental license to practice - must be in good standing (Oregon licensure or eligibility required)

- Board certification or eligibility consistent with general dentistry practice

- Demonstrated clinical proficiency across core general dentistry procedures including restorative, preventive, and oral surgery

- Ability to work independently as the primary dental provider at a clinic site
