Description of WorkThe primary purpose of the position of Coordinator of Dental Services at O'Berry Center is to insure proper dental health and oral hygiene for the residents. This is accomplished through a comprehensive program that includes planning, administration, and delivery of dental services and training. This leads to good dental health and independence of residents in the area of maintaining oral hygiene.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade Range: $128,636 - $257,272 AnnuallyCandidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Thorough knowledge of all phases of dentistry and clinical skills and physical ability to practice quality comprehensive dentistry.
- Knowledge of the dental needs of the population being served.
- Ability to supervise assigned personnel.
- Ability to provide training, including lectures, for dental students and dental hygiene students.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, departmental personnel, and other professional groups, both in and outside of the institution.

Veteran's and National Guard Preference
- Applicants seeking Veteran's Preference must attach a DD-214 Member-4 Form (Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty) to their applications.
- Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
- Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service, must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.

Licensed to practice dentistry in the state of North Carolina and two years of experience in the general practice of dentistry.
