Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

As a Dental Hygienist at CFB Ottawa, you'll play a critical role in delivering high-quality oral healthcare to the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces. Working alongside skilled dentists, you'll be a part of a close-knit team focused on supporting the health, well-being, and readiness of Canada's military members.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scaling, root planning, curettage, polishing procedures, desensitizing agents, occlusal sealants and anti-cariogenic agents
  • Provide oral hygiene instructions, nutritional counselling and smoking cessation
  • Conduct periodontal examinations and record clinical findings
  • Take digital radiographs
  • Provide administrative support such as updating patient databases, scheduling programs, and maintaining patient records

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
  • Registered and in good standing within the province of Ontario (CDHO)
  • CPR Level C or BLS provider
  • WHMIS Certification

Additional Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level

Compensation

$43 - 46/ hour
