As a
Demand Planner you have a key, front-end role within our supply chain. You are responsible for turning sales forecasts into actionable supply plans. This role partners closely with Sales, Supply Planning, and Purchasing teams to build accurate, unbiased forecasts that drive smart inventory decisions.
You'll own forecasting at the SKU level across multiple markets, categories, and sales channels. Success in this role comes from strong analytical thinking, the ability to identify trends and exceptions, and collaborating with stakeholders to continuously improve forecast accuracy.
This is an onsite, day-shift role based in
St. Louis, Missouri. There is some flexibility to work from home a few days per month if needed.
Responsibilities:- Build and maintain accurate SKU-level forecasts across multiple markets and business segments.
- Analyze historical data, trends, and seasonality to develop reliable demand plans.
- Identify and manage exception events that impact demand and supply planning.
- Reconcile sales forecasts and drive alignment across Sales, Supply Chain, and Purchasing teams.
- Optimize A/B/C item planning strategies based on vendor, category, and customer demand.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve models to reduce error and bias.
- Maintain and update forecasting models and key item master data.
- Analyze data and performance trends using tools like Excel and Power BI.
- Lead discussions to reach consensus forecasts with key stakeholders.
- Partner with Buyers and Supply Planners to improve inventory levels and vendor performance.
- Stay informed on market trends and proactively adjust plans based on business changes.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3+ years of demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain experience.
- Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) may be considered in place of experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with forecasting or ERP tools such as AS400, SAP/APO, Blue Yonder (JDA), or Oracle.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
- APICS or other forecasting certification preferred.

- Bunzl salary range for this role is $75,000- $100,000 based on education, experience and location.
