Responsibilities

Demand Planner

Department: Supply Chain

Reporting To: Senior Manager, Integrated Business Planning

Description

The Sr Demand Planner is responsible for having the right products, in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity globally for a specified business unit by continually monitoring and balancing demand and supply. Perform key data analysis for the Demand and Supply portion of the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) corporate process.

Generate, evaluate, adjust and communicate demand/supply forecast expressed in volume, revenue and cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit Leader or marketing counterpart to provide and obtain sales, product and market related information.
  • Maintain the unit sales demand/forecast at the SKU level by customer.
  • Perform forecast change comparison/net impact evaluation reports, customer reports and worksheets.
  • Utilize the forecasting system/software to analyze monthly forecast data.
  • Identify areas for demand/supply process improvements.
  • Perform monthly forecast maintenance, including extension of 18-24 month rolling forecast, mix updates by customer, and parameter alignment.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly cross-functional teams to maintain Demand/Supply balance and resolve imbalances including but not limited to inventory receipts meeting, supply-demand balance weekly, monthly Demand-Supply Review.
  • Assist in resolution of demand/supply imbalances by working with specific Supply-Demand Analyst, Marketing Team and other teams as needed.
  • Execute monthly kit build process activities including build forecast adjustments, reallocations and build workbench.
  • Assist and follow up with product transition plans developed by Product Management and identify slow moving inventory and inventory reduction opportunities.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets and cost effective initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of scenario analysis to resolve demand/supply imbalances.
  • Support in developing standardized reports in report writing tools.
  • Know and apply the Quality System and any appropriate Federal and International standards.
  • Assist and support other employees, teams, and sales personnel as necessary.


Skills Knowledge and Expertise

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required
  • MBA or master's degree preferred

Experience:
  • 5 years experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain or Finance required

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Previous experience working in a medical device or FDA regulated industry
  • Experience with QAD ERP/MRP system, Demand Planning software and manufacturing environment
  • Must possess and demonstrate strong team building and problem-solving abilities
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
