Overview

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST is seeking a Defined Contribution Specialist, who will work with our Financial Advisors, client services professionals, and occasionally directly with firm clients to fulfill investment projects and deliverables for firm prospective and existing clients. The Defined Contribution Specialist will also manage investment projects and deadlines to accurately complete and/or review materials before ultimate delivery to clients. Additionally, the Specialist will identify ways to create and document process efficiencies to improve client deliverables and client experience.

Responsibilities

Work with our financial advisors, client services, and occasionally directly with firm clients to:
  • Scope/fulfill investment-related projects and deliverables for defined contribution prospects and clients
  • Manage projects and deadlines with the Defined Contribution team and review deliverables for completeness and accuracy before providing client services/advisors
  • Assist with defined contribution or firm-level strategic projects; collaborate intra- and interdepartmentally to drive completion
  • Manage investment change projects on behalf of clients where CAPTRUST serves in a discretionary capacity
  • Identify and focus on opportunities to enhance or improve the efficiency of team deliverables/operations
  • Assist with due diligence and coverage for defined contribution-related investments/programs
  • Assist with asset class, industry, and economic research related to defined contribution
  • May perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Completion of a four-year college degree - Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred or equivalent work experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant industry experience

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience working with defined contribution plans, specifically 401(k) and 403(b) plans
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of ERISA guidelines and regulations
  • Experience working with clients in an ERISA 3(38) capacity a plus
  • Experience with Bloomberg, eVestment, Investment Metrics and Morningstar Direct a plus
  • Industry-related certifications and designations are a plus (examples: FINRA Series 6, 65,63,7, CRPS, AIF, QKA)
  • Significant experience with Microsoft products, especially Excel/PowerPoint
