Dean School of English Language Studies (ELI) SALARY: $122,226.59 - $126,843.76 LOCATION: Lynnwood, WA DESCRIPTION: The Dean for the International Education Division provides leadership, management, planning, oversight and advocacy for faculty, staff, and programs with a goal of ensuring student success within the International Education Division. The following departments and programs are currently included in the International Ed. Division: Academic English (AENGL), Communication/International Studies (COMM/INSTD), English Language Acquisition (ELA), ELA Student Services, Hotel and Tourism ESL (HTESL/Trajal), and the Intensive ESL department (INTEN).
This is an exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Instruction.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: - Assume primary responsibility for the recruitment, screening, orientation and continued professional development of full- and part-time faculty and staff within the division. This includes the management of the tenure process for probationary faculty in the instructional division.
- Supervise and support staff in Academic English, Communication/International Studies , English Language Acquisition (ELA), ELA Student Services, Hotel and Tourism ESL, and the Intensive ESL department including advisors, faculty and admin staff. Conduct evaluations of full- and part-time faculty and staff.
- Provide leadership in the development of effective teaching and learning strategies, as well as outcomes assessment tools.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) standards and reporting requirements. Co-represent Edmonds College on the State Board's Council for Basic Skills.
- Be responsible for student retention and success within the division.
- Establish and maintain identified FTES targets, monitor class enrollments, student-faculty ratios, and faculty loads, and work with department chairs to adjust class schedules and offerings as needed.
- Chair/Lead and/or participate in college-wide initiatives, committees and meetings.
- Develop and manage division budgets (state, self-support, and contract -funded areas); provide oversight for grant and contract development, implementation and compliance.
- Supervise the work of establishing/maintaining clear pathways and advising to College for English language learners.
- Partner with the Office of International Programs to offer appropriate and relevant course modalities, content, and pathway options that meet the demands of the international education market and the demands of both college F-1 visa holders and English language learner F-1 visa holders.
- Cultivate partnerships with Workforce Snohomish, Edmonds School District, Latino Education and Training Institute (LETI), and Refugee and Immigrant Services NW (RISNW), and seek out alternative revenue streams to foster student success and support division initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree in Education or closely related field
- A minimum of two years, or equivalent, of full-time teaching experience in developmental education, English Language Acquisition, or Adult Basic Education at the adult level.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Recent administrative or leadership experience, preferably at a community college.
- Strong organizational skills.

- Independent and self-motivated working style.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. The ability to speak clearly on the telephone, use a computer is required. Recurring early/late hours (weekend/early morning/evening meetings). Some tasks require lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs. This position requires the ability to drive and use of a personal vehicle. The ability to make sound judgments is essential.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., including some evenings and weekends.
COMPENSATION: Salary is
$122,226.59 - $126,843.76 and is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.
FLSA Status: The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: - You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
