Responsible to the Vice President of Student Services for the coordination, integration, and supervision of student admission and enrollment, registration and records policies and services, financial aid, and special programs (i.e., Veterans Services, Wellness Center, SparkPoint, and Financial Literacy), and/or other key areas of student services as assigned. The Dean ensures that the various enrollment services units and other College departments collaborate to produce program outcomes, bringing integrated services to students and the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Duties and Responsibilities are representative and not intended to cover all duties the incumbent performs. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the scope of work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to this classification.
  1. Plan, provide leadership for, organize, and direct the establishment of an organizational culture based on strong team-building and systematic collaboration among student and College services, such as student admissions, enrollment, registration and records, financial aid, special programs, and/or other key services as assigned
  2. Collaborate with other College and District administrators to plan and implement policies, procedures, programs, and activities that demonstrate quality, consistent service to students
  3. Collaborate with information technology staff and other staff to promote and expand the use of technology in the delivery of registration and enrollment, financial aid, reporting, and other services and programs
  4. Collaborate with the Dean of Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development to effectively implement dual and concurrent enrollment
  5. Serve as a technical advisor to review and resolve matters of regulatory interpretation related to the enrollment services and financial aid units
  6. Direct and participate in researching, compiling data for, and preparing special and regular reports, including annual program plans, editing information for the catalog and schedule of classes, and regulatory audits often associated with financial aid and student records
  7. Review petitions seeking waivers, approvals, and determent
  8. Plan and administer department and program budgets, including grant and other externally funded budgets; analyze and recommend changes to staffing levels as needed
  9. Use a computer database and a variety of computer software to set up, access, track, and report on student, departmental, financial, statistical, and other data. Supervise the set-up and maintenance of student, faculty, budgetary, categorical funding, and other online and manual records
  10. Serve as the Title IX Coordinator, Student Conduct Officer, or a lead role with the Behavioral Intervention Team
  11. Coordinate with appropriate departments to ensure students are aware of their options and resources with respect to reporting and filing complaints alleging sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and relationship violence
  12. As assigned, responsible for collecting the relevant facts related to the reported Title IX incident and, in collaboration with the District Title IX Coordinator, assessing whether a further review or investigation is necessary to ensure the safety of impacted students and the community
  13. Write grant proposals, manage Division grants, and prepare required reports
  14. Serve on designated College and District committees
  15. Serve as a member of the College Management Team and in a leadership role with strategic direction of Student Services
  16. Participate as a member of select Division, College, and District committees
  17. Train, direct, supervise, and evaluate the work of all managers, faculty, academic, and classified staff in the department, including day, evening, weekend, and summer services; direct the tenure review process and evaluation processes for all Division faculty and staff
  18. Provide leadership that instills a spirit of innovation and high standards of individual performance
  19. Carry out assigned roles and responsibilities as assigned in the College Emergency Operations Plan
  20. Serve as key emergency prevention, preparedness, and response personnel as assigned
  21. Serve as a Campus Security Authority and mandated reporter
  22. Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Services

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution OR the equivalent
  • One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff

Before employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete the following:

Foreign Education completed outside the United States must be deemed equivalent to that gained in conventional/accredited U.S. education programs for satisfying minimum qualifications. Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated by a U.S.-based credentials evaluation service. The District currently accepts evaluations from agencies approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

  4. Successfully cleared for employment through the background check process. In addition to background checks, the District may review publicly available information.
