If you are an Engineer with experience in control systems, Emerson has a great opportunity for you! As DCS Installation Assessment Engineer, you will be an essential part of the North America Power Projects Proposals organization leading Engineer/Procure/Construct (EPC) proposal support. With the primary focus being the development and optimization of the EPC offer scope for Project Proposal offers. This position can be located in one of the followingEmerson offices: Cranberry Township, PA, Charlotte, NC, Houston, TX, Latham, NY, Tinley Park, IL, or Warren, NJ.

You'll be responsible for review of customer specifications for craft labor skills required, engaging the appropriate vendors to support the required craft labor, and supporting the contractor bid process. Duties will require an understanding of full scope EPC type Ovation projects in the power industry and the craft labor needed to support these projects. The position requires the ability to develop best cost and technically compliant solutions to meet customer's needs.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Work with proposal offer owners and sales to get familiar with project scope, and supply chain to pre-qualify contractors appropriate to the scope of work.
  • Support site walkdowns with the appropriate potential vendors in order to obtain competitive bids for the scope of work required by the customer specification.
  • Create Scope of Work (SOW) documents that meet scope requirements based on industry knowledge, walkdowns, and input from the proposal offer owner,.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes for accuracy and work with the project teams to develop optimized outage plans and schedules.
  • Drive consistency and accuracy in the sub-contractor bidding process to improve project cost estimates while minimizing technical risk, and that drive best cost solutions
  • Manage relationships with existing sub-contractors and foster relationships with future potential sub-contractors to ensure best cost pricing and a cohesive approach to projects while optimizing the EPC proposal process

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in either electrical or mechanical installation with emphasis in control systems and/or process operation
  • Ability to travel 30-50%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.


Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Knowledge of control systems such as PLC, DCS, or SCADA.
  • Familiarity with the Emerson Ovation™ platform, including space, power, and grounding considerations.
  • Understanding of project labor requirements, subcontractor coordination, or field installation practices.

The salary range for this role is $145,000- 160,000 commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
