Datacenter Trainer to join our U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level hybrid-cloud data center operations team.
Location: on-site, Kansas City, MOOverview:We are seeking a Datacenter Trainer who will be responsible for the following:
- Support U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) enterprise-level hybrid-cloud data center operations
- Provide hands-on training and analysis for position specific requirements and introduction of new technologies and processes for USMC application hosting environment for world-wide customers
What you will do...
- You will be responsible for training staff who ensure operations and security of critical infrastructure supporting worldwide USMC operations.
- Provide hands-on skills training to new TAC Analysts and Datacenter Operations staff, ensuring they are certified to perform assigned tasks related to managing, monitoring, incident response, and supporting the hybrid cloud datacenter infrastructure and hosted application administrators within the USMC enterprise application hosting environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering hands-on training on role- and position-specific systems to ensure successful onboarding and integration of new staff.
- Delivering hands-on training on new technologies and processes for TAC members to ensure readiness to accept operational responsibility for monitoring and management .
- Collaborating with TAC Lead/Shift Leads/Deputies to plan and execute hands-on training delivery.
- Collaborating with Training Developer and HCS engineers and architects to develop and implement customized training plans.
- Collaborating with TAC Lead, Incident Manager, Event Manager, Problem Manager and Program. leadership to develop trending and identify areas needing enhanced or re-training to improve service delivery.
- Documenting training status and ensure rechecks at required intervals for all datacenter staff.
- Conduct analysis on training status and progression to identify areas for improvement.
- Working with TAC Lead and Government leadership to support special projects for the operation of the Tier 2 Service Desk.
QualificationsMinimum requirements: - Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and 11+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a team member in efforts focused on upskilling new and existing staff.
- Proven capability to rapidly assimilate new requirements, identify integration points within TAC processes, and communicate essential information using methods tailored to the needs of diverse recipients.
- Ability to demonstrate and clearly explain technical skills and processes to enable others to perform independently.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with peers, leadership, and customers to identify training needs and deliver training in a cooperative environment.
- Senior-level expertise in triaging datacenter incidents and events to ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Senior experience with Active Directory account and server management and monitoring.
- Experience preparing clear, concise documentation and briefings for leadership.
- Hands-on experience with server administration, including Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and SharePoint.
- Senior-level proficiency with monitoring and management platforms such as vCenter, vSphere, VMware vRealize Operations Manager, Log Insight, and Network Insight.
- Senior experience in enterprise/datacenter Service Desk operations, including use of service management tools (Remedy/Helix preferred).
- Experience monitoring backup systems, SQL Server, Oracle, storage systems (SAN and NAS), and networking principles/equipment (Cisco, Palo Alto).
- Familiarity with executing IT Service Management (ITSM) processes with emphasis on Incident and Event Management.
- Demonstrated customer service focus and capability.
- Ability to work effectively within a distributed virtual team across multiple locations, using both synchronous and asynchronous communication tools and techniques.
- IAT II certification required (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP); must attain and maintain DoD 8140 certification as required.
- ITIL training or certification.
- Experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:- AWS or Azure fundamentals certification.
Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
